Tibetan Lunar Therapy Workshop

  • Pure Land Farms Topanga, CA USA (map)

Explore a gentle, yet profound external therapy from Sowa Rigpa.  Learn how to use touch, chanting, & visualization, to balance subtle lunar energy in the body & mind ~ preserving & restoring health & vitality!

“La” (Tibetan བླ།) means “supreme” and refers to a vital protective energy that pervades and constitutes our human body. Closely connected with our consciousness, it gives strength,་vigor, stability, a bright complexion, clarity, bliss, sensitivity, and satisfaction. This energy circulates in our body according to the lunar cycle, following a specific pathway.

Due to chronic disease, emotional or physical trauma, and aggressive medical treatments, we can lose this energy resulting in various symptoms such as sadness, sleep disorders, decreased immunity, chronique fatigue, or anxiety.

Tibetan “La” Lunar therapy is one of the subtle energetic manual therapies from Sowa Rigpa (the Tibetan Medical tradition) used to restore this lost vital energy ~ through the application of gentle touch (clothed, similar to reiki) on thirty specific points along the la pathway, along with the visualization and chanting of potent seed syllables to stimulate the points.

In this experiential workshop, Micah Sheiner will introduce the basic principles & technique of this Tibetan Medicine external therapy, so that participants can both experience it for themselves and learn how to do the practice for the benefit of their friends and family members.  Participants will have the option to work in pairs, or simply on their own body, with equal effectiveness.

Micah will also share sound healing practices for activating the voice as a resonant instrument.  The learning environment will be enhanced with live soundscapes, guiding the participants into a deep state of meditation and allowing them to fully receive the benefits of this potent practice. The practice will conclude with a group sound bath.
